Community Alerts Child Abduction attempt in Alsip area. A vehicle described as a gold in color, Dodge Caliber with cracked passenger hub caps and a cross hanging from the rear view mirror, pulled up to the victim. Two M/W's were in the vehicle. The driver said, "Come here and see my new puppy." The victim stated no and started to walk away.

National D.A.R.E. Day Proclamation by The President of The United States Every year the President of the United States declares a National D.A.R.E. Day. NATIONAL D.A.R.E. DAY WILL BE CELEBRATED ON THURSDAY, APRIL 10TH IN 2008.
Each year, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) teaches millions of children across our country how to resist drugs and violence. On National D.A.R.E. Day, we honor the individuals who help our Nation's young people avoid the dangers of substance abuse and become productive citizens.

In Memory 1st Lt. David Schultz of Blue Island, Illinois. The 82nd Airborne Division said Schultz, a North Carolina-based paratrooper, died from wounds he sustained during combat in Scania, Iraq, on Thursday Jan. 31, 2008. The division said Schultz was hit by indirect fire. He was a platoon leader assigned to the division's 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team.
  Friday, February 01, 2008 It is with deep regrets that the Blue Island Police Department informs all agencies of the heroic death of 1st Lt. David E. Schultz II. 1st Lt. Schultz was killed in action serving his country in Iraq. 1st Lt. Schultz was the son of Sergeant David E. Schultz of the Blue Island Police Department and Marjorie Schultz. Please keep the family of 1st Lt. David E. Schultz II in your thoughts and prayers. The Men and Women of the Blue Island Police Department will forever honor our local hero.
