Residents and visitors are being warned that patrol officers will be strictly enforcing the loud music statute concerning loud music coming from a motor vehicle!
In addition to the loud music our officers have been equipped with new radar equipment to enforce the speed restrictions around our many construction zones.
This also includes targeted speed zones around our schools and parks.
Please drive safely and watch out for our children this summer.

Chief Douglas E. Hoglund

Dear Parents,
The last thing any parent wants is a phone call from your local police asking you to come to our police station to pick up your child. Worst than that, would be a message telling you child has been harmed in some way. School will soon be out and the Blue Island Police Department would like to take the time to ask parents to get your children and your family involved in some positive fun activities. Enjoy your summer with your children or get them involved in the many events that are being offered in our community! Click here for a list of websites, activities and summer programs available this summer.

Sometime in your life you were helped by a Police Officer. Here is your chance to show your support of our Police Officers across the nation!

Please join us as we commemorate “Police Week”.
Visit the links below for more information on Police Memorial week. Blue Island Residents are urged to share in the memorial week by turning on a blue light in their window at night and flying a blue ribbon to honor those officers that gave the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and for all Police Officers.
